Break dancing originated in New York City during the late 1960s and early 1970s from martial arts moves developed by street gangs. The moves, originally learned as a form of self-defense against other gangs, eventually evolved into the complex and athletic moves that characterize modern break dancing.

Gary Ferrer was a well known photographer and dancer but sadly he lost his eyesight in 2016 due to a meningitis that almost killed him. Gary decided to turned his scars into stars and his passion for dancing took him to find a reason to live. Gary Ferrer & St JOhn’s Angels is a very special folklorico dance group, choreographs, wardrobe are unique its all from Garys imagination.

Triumphing over tragedy is something all three members of the High Desert-based vocal trio “Living Proof” are very well versed in.  Carlotta Diggs, Candace Lindo, and Paul Peterson are cancer survivors who credit their love of music and performing for helping them get through some of the darkest moments of their lives.
